South Gloucestershire Leisure Centre Launches Studio:Tech

Bradley Stoke Centre Leisure Centre is proud to announce the opening of its new state of the art interactive fitness room, Studio:Tech.

Studio:Tech is the first fitness studio in the UK to feature WebRacing™ -  the newest and most exciting form of fitness available.  WebRacing™ is a cross between a cardio routine and a fast-paced virtual game which gives both body and mind a thorough workout.

Aimed at the teen market customers can choose a WebRacing™ bike, or rower, and can view the action of the virtual race as it unfolds on a big screen.  In trials many ‘grown up’ customers have also been excited about Studio:Tech and the friendly competition between the generations creates an exciting, high-paced atmosphere.

Members are transformed into a virtual character (an avatar) and race against each other in a virtual world.  To complete the interactive experience Studio:Tech is also equipped with Wii machines and dance mats to keep everyone entertained at all times!

Lisa Vyner, Leisure Operations Manager at the centre, explains why the concept of Studio:Tech was launched,

“To us this is about more than selling the same old workout message, this is about encouraging ongoing interaction, excitement and competition so that our customers get fit without noticing how hard they are working.

“Aside from offering our members a fun way to exercise, there is a more serious reason for introducing WebRacing™ - traditional cardio machines offer little interaction, and people are far more likely to achieve their fitness goals when they feel involved in the workout, as they are with WebRacing™.   We are very proud to be the first leisure centre in the UK to introduce this top of the range technology and are sure that our customers will benefit greatly from having access to this revolutionary equipment.”
